HiPP Combiotic: the baby formula with probiotics

HiPP Combiotic: the baby formula with probiotics

November 26, 2018

Probiotics? Just another healthy buzzword? When it comes to your baby, we think it’s a really interesting and important ingredient to consider in your baby formula. So what are probiotics and what does a probiotic do for a baby?

A probiotic is “a microorganism introduced into the body for its beneficial qualities”. What does that mean? Well, the body has good and bad bacteria. Probiotics are the good bacteria that live in your intestines and help protect you from bad bacteria that can make you sick and inflame your belly.

HiPP offers among their baby formulas a Combiotics formula that focuses on closely replicating breastmilk and by introducing probiotics. Your baby’s belly will feel less inflamed, less irritated and a happy baby means a happy parent.

So what are HiPP formula ingredients and why is it such a great formula? Well we have lots of great HiPP probiotic formulas on our Organic Baby Food Shop website.

A great example is our Hipp UK Organic Combiotic Stage 1 Infant Formula. It’s an organic baby formula, from a company with over 20 years’ experience and this baby formula with probiotics contains the natural probiotic L. fermentum hereditum® that was originally isolated from human milk.

  •         Certified organic, HiPP is the world's expert in organic baby food and nutrition with over 50 years experience. All the organic ingredients used in HiPP Combiotic First Infant Milk Stage 1 800g - UK Version are tested at every stage of production for purity and to ensure no unwanted chemicals.

  •         Vitamins A, C and D which contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system.
  •         With iron which contributes to the normal cognitive development of children
  •         Nutritionally superior to cow's milk, it is not recommend using cow's milk as your baby's main drink until they are at least 12 months of age.
  •         With added vitamins and minerals to help support infants during the critical first months.

Sounds great right? So, when can babies have probiotics? Well there is a lot of research and differing opinions (of course, as usual) but the general consensus is that you can introduce probiotics from 3 months. It could be even earlier if you consult with your doctor first.

And mom, if you are combining breastfeeding with formula you might consider taking probiotics yourself. One of our mom’s here at the Organic Baby Food Shop swears by it when she was breastfeeding. It didn’t just help calm her belly but she found that as a result, the little bits of sleep that she did get were more restful and invigorating.
